17 May Another 3 Million Exposed in Facebook Breach
It was revealed last week that the personal details of another 3 million Facebook users had been exposed by a rogue app called “myPersonality”. The quiz app is said to have collected highly personal information, including the results of psychological tests, which were uploaded to an unsecure website and shared with around 150 institutions and companies.
The revelation comes after Facebook’s privacy scandal involving Cambridge Analytica. It was later on revealed that the “myPersonality” app had been developed by two academics from the University of Cambridge’s The Psychometrics Centre.
The discovery of the app is said to have prompted Facebook’s sweeping audit which took down around 200 apps suspected of data misuse.
