Amazon Probes Reports of Data Leakage by Employees

Amazon said last Monday that it is investigating reports of internal information leakage by employees bribed by independent merchants.

Sources have said that some employees are offering to remove fake reviews and confidential information through intermediaries in exchange for payments. The practice is reportedly rampant in China where the number of sellers are drastically increasing.

The WSJ also reported that some brokers in Shenzhen are even offering internal sales metrics, reviewers’ email addresses, and the restoration of banned Amazon accounts for around $20 to more than $2000.
