Austrian National Post Office Criticized for Data Sharing

Privacy campaigners criticized Austria’s National Post Office this week for allegedly collecting and selling the personal data of around three million of its customers to companies that will be using it for marketing purposes.

It also reportedly made around 2.2 million profiles that included the potential political allegiances of users which were sold to political parties.

However, the Austrian Post said that they did nothing wrong and such data collection and sharing was allowed under Austrian law.
