Canadian Cybersecurity Collective Develops Free Data “Protection” App

Nonprofit organization CyberEco recently announced that it has developed a free app that will help smartphone users to protect their data from various cyber threats.

The group announced that the “Protection” app can detect security breaches and fraud attempts in user emails, texts and other apps, as well as give tips to prevent future hacks.

The cybersecurity collective is a product of the collaboration of three competing financial institutions: Desjardins Group, National Bank of Canada and Deloitte. CyberEco says that it hopes to enlist the help of more financial institutions to expand its talent pool and share more technology to the public.
