28 Jun Consumer Reports: Facebook Still Maximizing Data Collection
Privacy experts from Consumer Reports recently said that a number of Facebook’s privacy settings remain confusing and hard to use, despite the company vowing to “put more people in control of their privacy”.
Even after the company’s scandal with Cambridge Analytica, and after the GDPR has taken effect, the design and language used in the social network’s privacy controls still nudge people toward sharing the maximum amount of data.
On CR’s findings, executive director of the World Privacy Forum Pam Dixon remarked that “It takes an extraordinarily diligent consumer to make informed privacy choices on Facebook.”
