Facebook: Data of Indonesian Users Not Abused

Facebook disclosed this week to the Indonesian government that the data of around one million users in Indonesia on their platform had not been improperly used by Cambridge Analytica.

This was in response to the pressure being applied by the Indonesian government on Facebook to produce answers regarding its privacy scandal. Previously, reports that 1,096,666 people in Indonesia may have had their data shared, or 1.26 percent of the global total, had made it to Communications Minister Rudiantara who threatened to shut down Facebook in Indonesia if personal data was found to have been breached.
