Facebook Grants Russian Company Access to User Data

According to CNN this week, Facebook had reportedly allowed Russian company Mail.Ru extended access to user data beyond its stop date of May 25.

Facebook said that while Mail.Ru developed hundreds of apps, only two were granted a two-week extension and it did not see any evidence that the company abused user data.

The company added that it is looking into these apps as part of its investigation of data misuse related to the Cambridge Analytica scandal. However, it was also noted that the Russian company had ties to Kremlin.
