FitBit Employees Charged for Stealing Rival Company’s Trade Secrets

Six employees of fitness device company FitBit were recently charged for possessing confidential trade information stolen from rival company Jawbone.

According to an indictment filed last Thursday in a Northern California federal court, the employees obtained the stolen trade secrets after leaving Jawbone and were aware that they were not supposed to have them.

However, a Fitbit spokesperson said that the judge had found no Jawbone trade secrets were used or misappropriated in any Fitbit product, feature or technology.
