Investor Expresses Confidence in Apple’s Ability to Protect Privacy

In a recent CNBC interview, Elevation Partners’ co-founder Roger McNamee said that Apple had done a number of “extraordinary things” to protect privacy and preserve security, and has thus framed itself as better at data privacy compared to other tech giants.

McNamee continued that the company has consistently rolled out seemingly minor improvements, such as facial recognition and storing data locally on the device made a striking difference in terms of protecting consumer privacy.

McNamee also remarked that “if lawyers, bankers or ministers aren’t allowed to share private information for profit, neither should tech companies”.
