Google Continues to Track Users Who Turn Off Location Services

The Associated Press recently revealed that Google still tracks user location even if location services and history has been turned off on the device.

It was discovered that Google stored a location snapshot of the user when Maps is launched. Automatic weather updates on Android phones also roughly pinpoint the user’s location, and even Searches that have nothing to do with location pinpoint precise longitude and latitude of users.

The findings, which had been confirmed by Princeton University researchers, are now being looked into by US lawmakers.
