Krack Flaw Capable of Exposing Medical Devices, Patient Records

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) recently warned in their security bulletin that some of their devices are vulnerable to a bug called Krack (Key Reinstallation Attack) which exploits a flaw in the Wi-Fi Protected Access II (WPA2) security protocol used by almost all modern wireless networks.

The company said that attackers who successfully exploit the flaw will be able to change or exfiltrate patient records and cause major IT disruptions.

Affected products include medical supply and management systems such as the BD Alaris Gateway Workstation, Pyxis Anesthesia ES, Anesthesia System 4000, MedStation ES, and Parx.
