23 Jun New Viber Study Identifies Consumer Data Privacy Concerns
A number of key consumer data privacy concerns were highlighted in a survey conducted by Viber which polled 1500 individuals between March 23 to 26 of this year. It highlighted that consumers are no longer too concerned with the privacy of their data on social or messaging apps.
Only 33.3% were concerned about their personal contact information like email address and phone number being shared with third parties, while 10.2% were worried about their friends and contacts being shared.
However, around 55.3% still said that they would stop using an app that shares their data with third-parties without their knowledge. 15.4% said they would not stop using the app, while 29.3% were not sure.
