PageUp May Face Class Action for Data Breach

A Sydney-based law firm said this week that HR SaaS provider PageUp may likely face a class action lawsuit for the data breach caused by a malware attack on its systems.

Centennial Lawyers, the law firm which filed a class action suit against the New South Wales Ambulance Service for compromising sensitive personal information, said that it is considering taking action against PageUp.

Centennial Lawyer A/Prof. George Newhouse added that businesses and those that provide services to them, have to ensure that their employees’ or potential employees’ information is protected. PageUp’s case highlights the damage that can be done if security is breached.
