Twitter Revealed to Have Sold Data to Cambridge Analytica

It was reported this week that Twitter had allegedly sold data to a company run by Aleksandr Kogan, a researcher associated with Cambridge Analytica, back in 2015.

Through his company, Global Science Research, Kogan was said to have bought data including tweets, location data, photos, profile pictures, and usernames from Twitter over a 5-month period between December 2014 to April 2015.

In response, Twitter only said that it had banned Kogan, his company and Cambridge Analytica from running ads the platform.
