VW, Toyota, GM Trade Secrets Exposed in Data Breach

Cybersecurity company UpGuard recently said that around ten years worth of data from major car manufacturers Volkswagen, Toyota, Tesla, General Motors, ThyssenKrupp, and Fiat Chrysler had been exposed when an engineering company called Level One Robotics left its server publicly accessible.

UpGuard said that around 157 GB of data that included information on assembly line schematics, factory floor plans and layouts, robotic configurations and documentation, ID badge request forms for employees, contracts and non-disclosure agreements were exposed.

Level One Robotics responded and said that they took the backup drive offline as soon as they were made aware of the situation.
